CERTIFICATION CARDS (SANCTION CARDS) – If you have not received your certification cards for the 07-08 season before you mail your entry, LEAVE THE SPACE BLANK on the entry form. Do not write in “applied for”. To save time at check-in, captain may send a copy of all team members USBC cards, either with entry or when confirmation is received. Otherwise, collect all cards for check-in.

RESERVED DATES or CHOICE DATES – For teams that are scheduled, the team captain WILL RECEIVE A NOTICE OF SCHEDULED TIME TO BOWL in the tournament. If we cannot give you your choice, we will notify you immediately as to the date given you and you can accept or reject it before the entries close.

TEAM MEMBERS ENTERED ON TWO DIFFERENT BLANKS– Teams whose members are bowling with someone on another team in the minor events MUST mail the two blanks in together, to insure being scheduled on the same squad in the minor events. Any two teams that request they be paired together in the team event, MUST mail the entries together with a notation that they wish to cross lanes with each other. Entries that do not make this request will be paired with a team of like average.

CORRECT ADDRESSES – Team captains, BE SURE you give us your FULL, CORRECT MAILING ADDRESS, WITH ZIP CODE, as well as those of the rest of your members. IF YOU DO NOT, it is quite possible that you will not receive a confirmation letter or prize checks. If you change your address after filing this entry, NOTIFY US of your new address.

        Available in Team, Doubles, Singles and All - Events

 In Each Event $9.00 goes to the Prize List and $1.00 to expenses

 

RULES:

1. You must enter the regular handicap event to participate in the corresponding optional scratch event.

2. You are eligible to win prizes in handicap, actual and optional scratch.

3. All five bowlers must pay the optional scratch fee ($10.00 per bowler) to compete in the optional scratch team prize list.

4. Both bowlers in doubles must pay the optional scratch fee to compete in the optional scratch doubles and must be the same partners as in the handicap event.

5. Any bowler may enter the optional scratch event in singles and all - events, but must be competing in the corresponding handicap event.

6. At least 1 in 20 entries in each optional scratch prize event will cash.

 

This optional scratch feature in no way affects the handicap prize list as it now exists. There will still be an actual prize list and the highest all - events score (whether entered in the optional scratch or not) will be entitled to have their entry paid to the USBC Masters Tournament.

 

 

   

 

 RULES AND REGULATIONS OF THE TOURNAMENT

Read Rules No. 1 and No. 6 Carefully

  1. Use highest certified league average for 21 or more games at the end of the 2006-07 season. Members of local associations that publish an annual average book or furnish the State Association Manager with an alphabetical listing of its members and averages, MUST use those averages. If certified average of 21 or more games is ten pins above 2006-07 certified average eight days prior to the date the bowler competes in the tournament, the posted average must be used. If no certified average last year, use highest posted certified league for 21 or more games as of eight days prior to participation in the tournament. Bowlers should check the USBC Rule Book to determine if they are subject to re rating for this tournament. You must be a USBC member affiliated with a local association in the State of Michigan. Residents of Michigan who are USBC members in any other state can qualify for entry by purchasing an unattached membership card for $21.00. Certified league play as referred to in the rules of this tournament, include ALL regular leagues, mixed leagues, 4-person, 3-person leagues and doubles and singles Classics that operate with a printed schedule for a definite number of weeks. Bowlers participating in the State Tournament must use the hand with which the average declared was established. Any entrant having an uncertified league average for the 2006-07 season which is higher than the certified average, the uncertified league average must be reported prior to bowling for possible re rating. Failure to do so may result in disqualification. Bowlers participating twice will use entering average. Sport average will be used with adjusted scale if that is the only average you have for 2006-07.

  2. Entrants can bowl twice in team, doubles and singles, first score in all three events is the all-events score. In second team event, at least two players in the lineup must be different. In second doubles event, one player in the lineup must be different. If bowling second doubles event you must bowl a second singles event. A bowler may cash twice in the singles event. Unmarried GRADE and HIGH SCHOOL students that have not attained the age of 18 must have written consent of their parent or guardian on an approved form, and on file with the Association Manager, no less than one week prior to bowling in the tournament, unless the student is accompanied by their parent or guardian, in which case the parental consent form may be filed up to the time the student begins bowling.

  3. ALL FEES MUST accompany the entry blank in FULL. Prize fees will be returned 100% in prizes. Ten (10) places will be paid in ACTUAL pin fall in each event in addition to the handicap prize list for each event. Handicap prizes will be awarded on a basis of at least one (1) prize for each ten (10) entries. Champions in both the Actual and Handicap divisions will be awarded trophies and USBC State Champion Chevrons. Optional Scratch prize entry fee is also available.

  4. HANDICAPS are based on 90% of the difference between the ENTRANT’S HIGHEST LEAGUE AVERAGE and the TOURNAMENT SCRATCH BASIS of 220 (game) 660 (series) with no maximum. ENTRANTS FAILING TO REPORT AN AVERAGE ON THEIR ENTRY BLANK and who are not designated as NEW bowlers, will be accepted as a scratch bowler. The tournament management shall not be responsible for average errors made in filling out the entry blank. NO AVERAGE WILL BE CHANGED AFTER ENTRANT HAS COMPLETED THEIR FIRST GAME OF A SERIES. Rule 319A will be used as written in the USBC Rule Book.

  5. BOWLERS entered in the FIVE-PERSON and INDIVIDUAL events may participate in the ALL-EVENTS prizes by paying the $7.00 fee per entrant. Any bowler who places FIRST in all-events, but has not paid the required fee, will receive the championship trophy only. No pacers are allowed in this tournament.

  6. Any entrant in this tournament who has earned a prize of $300.00 or more in value, in ANY Handicapped or Classified tournament during the twelve month period prior to their entry in this tournament, MUST REPORT the amount of their prize or prize earned, the name of the tournament, the name and address of the Tournament Director, their entering average and the scratch score they bowled in the tournament(s), at the time they apply for entry in this tournament.

  7. Any person, or persons, who violate the rules of this tournament, either individually or collectively, shall forfeit their fees paid and any or all rights to claim or hold any trophy or prize awarded in this tournament. BOWLERS MAY WEAR WALKING SHORTS (NOTE: walking shorts are knee length). THE FOLLOWING ARE NOT ALLOWED IN THIS TOURNAMENT: UNDERSHIRT TYPE OF T-SHIRT OR TANK TOP, HEADGEAR OF ANY KIND OR OBSCENE LANGUAGE ON ANY GARMENT. ALL SHIRTS MUST HAVE SLEEVES. ANY OTHER QUESTIONABLE ATTIRE IS UP TO THE TOURNAMENT MANAGER’S DISCRETION AS WHETHER TO ALLOW. USBC Tournament Rule 327C will govern all games, or portions of games, irretrievably lost in the scoring process.

  8. All participants should be familiar with the average adjustment requirements of USBC Rule 319C. No entry blanks will be accepted unless properly completed, including team name, USBC certification number and names of all team members, their addresses and their correct averages. THE CONDUCT OF THIS TOURNAMENT SHALL BE GOVERNED BY THE RULES OF THE UNITED STATES BOWLING CONGRESS.

        Teams wishing to bowl ALL 9 GAMES on one day may do so on any Saturday or Sunday.

TEAMS within 75 miles of the tournament site will be expected to accept the EARLY SATURDAY or LATE SUNDAY SQUADS. WHEN FILLING OUT THIS ENTRY BLANK, PLEASE, write or print clearly (medium size writing or printing leaves us room to fill in substitute’s name if a substitution is necessary at the time of bowling). Help us avoid errors in spelling. If we cannot read it, we sometimes GUESS wrong. Be sure to furnish the complete information asked for on the entry form.

IF ENTRY BLANK IS NOT COMPLETED IN FULL, IT WILL BE RETURNED and you may lose out on a reserved date if it is not returned to our office before closing dates for reserved entries. DO IT RIGHT. DO IT YOURSELF. Don’t leave it to your Local Association Manager or someone else.
